MasterCard brings cashless payments to IMG Worlds of Adventure
MasterCard is a tech company in the world-wide payments industry. It operates the world’s fastest payments processing network, which connects consumers, financial institutions, merchants, governments and businesses in over 210 countries and territories.
Located in the center of new Dubai, IMG Worlds of Adventure is the Middle East’s first multi-themed entertainment destination featuring four interactive zones, including Cartoon Network, MARVEL, IMG Boulevard and Lost Valley – Dinosaur Adventure. The park is temperature-controlled and is open year-round and aims to attract well over four million visitors in its first year of operation.
As the exclusive payment network partner of the newly opened entertainment location owned by the Ilyas and Mustafa Galadari Group and managed by IMG Worlds, MasterCard is powering the parks initiative towards establishing itself as the digital theme park of the future through its Payment Gateway Services.
As traders around the globe want to tap into the growth of digital commerce, MasterCard’s breakthrough tech allows them to receive payments regardless of which device or payment brand is being used, or which market the customer is in. this ultimately results in an easier, convenient and more secure experience for customers.
IMG Worlds of Adventure is a 1.5 million-square-foot entertainment destination. The park will benefit from an all-in-one omni-channel payment experience which is brought to life with the park’s mobile app, website and self-service kiosks which are all driven by MasterCard Payment Gateway Services. The cashless payments aim was to offer an easy ‘tap-and-go’ cashless environment all across the park and it eliminates the need for visitors to carry physical cash during their visit which then reduces fraud-related risks.
The new technology will also give parents the option to allow their children to go out and explore the massive theme park independently by remotely looking after their individual wallets through the mobile app, which can be linked to multiple accounts.

As well as working as a virtual user guide with maps and other services for visitors, the mobile application will also include features that will be rolled out in phases, a range of other cutting-edge features, including a child tracking system, an ‘advanced way-finding tracking infrastructure’, ride bookings, queuing times, reservations for restaurants and experiences, notifications, ‘buy-now-pick-up-at-exit’ shopping enhancements, and much more.
