What do we know about Emaar's new CDO?

Emaar Properties has announced that Veresh Sita is its new Chief Digital Officer (CDO).

Here is what we know about the appointment.

 

 

1: Veresh Sita previously worked at Alaska Airlines as its CIO, and was responsible for overseeing an organisation of the 300 IT professionals and investing in the airline’s infrastructure, enterprise systems and technical innovation.

 

2: He also has experience working in real estate, and has worked as the CIO and CDO for Colliers International, helping to transform its information and technology service department.

 

3: Veresh Sita has around 25 years of experience working in information technology, and is developing a new strategy that will drive Emaar’s growth.

 

4: Whilst working at Emaar, Sita will also prioritise the company’s technology roadmap to ensure good customer service and to strengthen the company’s agility.

 

5: As CDO of Emaar, Veresh Sita will be deliver the highest level of IT services and availability needed by the group’s overall operation, as well as being a key contributor to the company’s business decisions.

 

6: He has worked as Director of Global Business System Solutions as Starbucks, and led the largest business process and systems transformation in the company’s history.

 

7: In 2013, he was named ‘Best CIO of a Large Company’ by Puget Sound Business Journal.

 

8: Veresh Sita was born and raised in South Africa and has a bachelor’s degree in commerce/business information systems from the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa.

 

9: Veresh Sita is a founder member of EveryoneGives.org, the world’s social giving campaign. It allows people to support causes they care about, and to multiply their donation through the power of their personal networks.

 

10: At his previous job at Alaska Airlines, Veresh Sita ran the IT like a business, forming an executive committee for IT with a technology COO, CFO and Chief HR Officer.
